Polymarket Points & Rewards: How the $POLY Airdrop Is Farmed

Points, liquidity rewards and the $POLY airdrop are three different things. Here's how each works, how 'farming' an airdrop actually plays out, and why sybil detection punishes the obvious plays.

“Points,” “rewards” and the “$POLY airdrop” get used interchangeably, but they're not the same thing. Getting the distinction right is the difference between farming effectively and wasting volume on activity that won't count. Here's how each works and what actually moves a potential allocation — which you can model on the $POLY Checker.

Three different things

  • Liquidity-provider rewards — Polymarket has run maker-reward programs that pay for posting resting orders that tighten the book on eligible markets. These are a live, ongoing incentive, separate from any token.
  • Activity / points-style tracking— the on-chain record of your volume, age and breadth. There is no single official public “points” dashboard for the token; the chain is the ledger.
  • The $POLY airdrop — a confirmed-but-unscheduled future distribution that will most likely weigh that cumulative activity, with sybil filtering. See when the airdrop is expected.

How “farming” actually plays out

In past exchange airdrops, the wallets that did best weren't the ones that manufactured volume in a weekend — they were the ones that had been genuinely active for a long time. Volume-weighting with a per-wallet cap blunts whale wash trading, and sybil detection zeroes out multi-account farms and self-trading. So the durable “farm” is unglamorous: trade real markets you'd trade anyway, consistently, over months, from one wallet. Provide liquidity on markets you understand if you want the maker rewards on top. Read the full checklist in how to qualify for the Polymarket airdrop.

What won't work

Wash trading between your own wallets, spraying activity across dozens of fresh addresses, and last-minute volume spikes are the exact patterns sybil detection is designed to catch. And never connect a wallet to “claim” a token that isn't live — a real airdrop check never asks for a signature.

Measure it

The $POLY Checkerturns a wallet's public volume and realized P&L into a scenario-adjustable estimate, so you can see which inputs drive the figure and track them over time. See who ranks highest on the Polymarket airdrop leaderboard, compare against the 200k-trader leaderboard, and unlock the names and full P&L of the wallets ahead of you with Premium (from $4.99/week).
