How to Copy the Best Polymarket Traders
A practical guide to copy-trading on Polymarket — how to find traders with a real edge, verify their track record, follow their flow, and mirror strategies with your own account.
Copy-trading sounds simple — find someone who wins and do what they do. On Polymarket it's both easier and harder than that: easier because every trade is on-chain and verifiable, harder because the public profit number lies and timing cuts into any edge. This guide covers how to copy the right traders, the honest way. Start on the copy-trading page.
Step 1 — find traders with a real edge
Ignore the headline number on a profile; it mixes in unrealized marks and ignores losses already taken. The leaderboard ranks 200k+ wallets by net realized P&L rebuilt from on-chain fills, with arbitrage and market-maker bots filtered out. Better still, rank by skill rather than wealth on the Edge Score board, which shrinks win rate and ROI toward the field by sample size so a steady record beats one lucky wallet.
Step 2 — verify before you follow
Open any wallet for its deep-dive: the realized P&L curve, per-category win rate, open positions and full trade history. The questions that matter: is the record consistent or one big hit? Is the edge in the category you want to copy? A politics specialist tells you nothing about their sports trades. The difference between a sharp and a whale matters here — copy sharps for their hit rate, not whales for their size.
Step 3 — follow the flow in real time
Once you know who's worth watching, the smart-money tracker streams their fills live — outcome, size, price and the wallet behind each. The highest-signal event is convergence: several independent sharps taking the same side at once. One sharp on one market is noise.
Step 4 — mind the gap
The honest caveat: you see a fill after it prints. A sharp who bought at 40¢ has a different trade than you do at 62¢, so blind copying gives away edge. Use smart-money flow as confirmation and a warning system, not a slot machine — and check it against your own book. Paste your wallets into the portfolio tracker to see the ranked-wallet flow with and against every position you already hold.
Mirror strategies with your own account
If you want the model's strategies to trade automatically, auto-bet is non-custodial: you authorize a scoped session key on your own Polymarket Deposit Wallet and the Insights strategies mirror their picks into your account, sized to it — funds never leave your wallet.
Premium and the API
The leaderboard and live tape are free. Polynyx Premium(from $4.99/week) unlocks the names, ranks and P&L of every smart wallet, all-time histories and win rates, and unlimited portfolio tracking. Builders can pull leaderboard and smart-money data from the Polynyx API and MCP server.
Polynyx is independent analytics, not an advisor, and nothing here is financial advice. Copying another trader does not replicate their entry prices or their risk.
